Since he's no longer Fire Lord, however, that means he travels with no royal entourage, and that means emerging from City Hall after the meeting to the full force of Republic City's gathered media.

He issues a statement saying that the Earth Queen's passing is tragic, that he hopes the Earth Kingdom resolves its political turmoil quickly, he is in no official position to give a statement on Fire Nation security or any estimate of Red Lotus numbers, that Avatar Korra is on the road to recovery and that, above all, her privacy should be respected.
After which, he'll make his way through the crowds to the Satomobile waiting nearby in the plaza. He stops to greet and speak to those amassed in the crowds, in equal parts humoured and baffled when youngsters ask for him to give his autograph.
