But I... I'm right here. [He says sadly as he looks down at his hands. Even with all of his life being treated as history... he can't except it. He can't be gone yet.]

[She steps forward, giving him a good look-over. The tattoos look real, for one. And she can't deny that he looks exactly like Aang. Suddenly, she feels nervous. She's not sure she believes her eyes, but she has a horrible feeling that something has gone wrong.]

Can you airbend?

[He gives some quick nods.]

Do you want me to show you?

[She nods, stepping back to give him space. Assuming he can airbend.]

[He takes a deep breath! Focuses! And...]

[Jinora's jaw drops. The airbending is unexpected, though, with all of the new airbenders showing up, it's not impossible. No, it's the way he demonstrates his bending.

It takes her a good twenty seconds to reply.]

H-how?

[savedtheworld]

Don't worry, I'll tell you how. [His smile is just a bit faded from her response, but he still explains chipperly.] The first thing you need? Is a bunch of really good marbles. The more silver-y they are, the better they're gonna look when you're spinning them!

[She shakes her head.]

No, no. I meant how... how are you here? Two Avatars aren't supposed to exist at the same time.

[Now his face sinks again at that, and he lets the marbles come to a stop.]

Oh. Right... That. [He lightly shrugs his shoulders.] I don't know how. But... I think it had something to do with the spirit world.

I... I shouldn't be here.

[Thoughtfully:] But I'm here, so if you did somehow get displaced by time, you must end up going back at some point. We can figure out what's going on, don't worry.

[She smiles.] Do you have somewhere to stay? We have plenty of room on Air Temple Island.

[He's actually still for a moment, because he's wondering why her presence means he has to go back. Why she's an airbender. Why she almost looks like a mirror.

But then he looks at her with uncertain hope.]

Really? I- I never heard of an Air Temple Island. I would be honored, but... I don't want to impose.

[It doesn't occur to her that he wouldn't know; it's a well-known fact for most people that she's Aang's granddaughter.]

You wouldn't be imposing. Everyone will want to meet you.

If you're sure, then... then, sure. [It's hard not to get choked up just looking at her.]

At lot of the time, I... I never thought I'd see another airbender again.

[Jinora feels a twinge in her heart. She'd never been the last airbender. Her grandfather had and her father had, but she'd never known that feeling.

She gives him a soft smile. This is still incredibly weird, but she can't help but tell him everything.]

For awhile, only my family could airbend. Four of us-- maybe five, we're not sure about Rohan yet-- were born airbenders. But-- [Her smile widens.] --now there are more. People who were born non-benders and got airbending. Leaving the Spirit Portals open didn't just balance the physical and spiritual worlds, it began to balance the elements again.

[Her eyes are shining now.] Dad thinks there could be enough airbenders to rebuild our nation.

[Don't worry. Grandpa's eyes are shining, too.]

Really? The air nation... it's gonna be back again? I... I don't think I have words for that. I might hoped it, but I never imagined it would happen like this.

But- your family! They sound really great. Where did you get that airbending from? [Could there be some airbending family out there he doesn't know about?]

It'll take time, since we've just started looking for airbenders and not everyone will want to join us. But it's going pretty well so far.

[She may or may not have an airbender boyfriend, grandpa.]

[Oh... he hasn't figured it out.]

I inherited it from my dad, who inherited it from you.

[But you're too young!!!

As she speaks, his eyes widen, and now his eyes are definitely glistening as he puts it together.]

F-from... me? [He points from himself and to her.

And suddenly, it's as if he can see a little Katara in her.]

Does that mean that you... you're my... my...

[The sentence trails off into him quickly pulling her into a hug. One that's warm and soft and comes straight from the heart.]

...family.

[She hugs back, smiling warmly over his shoulder. She'd always wished she could've met her grandfather and learned about him firsthand rather than through stories and old relics left behind. It's one thing to be told that someone is good at hugging or has a bright personality but another thing entirely to experience it.]

Hi, grandpa Aang.

[savedtheworld]

[He's giving his best hug. And at the moment, things feel so peaceful. Aang smiles tenderly.]

H-hi... my granddaughter, Jinora. [It's odd in a way; he's not sure if he's even met any grandparents before. But that doesn't matter too much. One thing matters: she's family.] I'm so proud of you.

[Jinora smiles as widely and brightly as she can. Her father told her that Aang would be proud, but it's another thing to hear it from Aang.]

Thank you. [She's glowing with pride.] You'd be proud of the rest of my family too.

My dad... he'll want to see you.

[His own smile shines on.]

Really? Can I meet them? I... I'd love to meet all of you!

[The two of them could light up the entire museum at this point.]

Do you want to go to the island now? I hope you'll like it; it was built to look like a traditional air temple.

[He thinks for a moment. And then he softly nods.]

I'd be honored to see it. I'm really curious.

[Still grinning.]

If we had gliders, we could just fly there, but I guess we'll have to wait for the ferry.

Maybe I should answer any questions you have before we go. It'll be pretty chaotic when you show up on the Island, so you might not be able to get a word in edgewise.
