Or maybe you're one of them! ♠ 12. It's a long line at whatever vendor you're at. Make small talk with nearby civilians or try and haggle the vendor down to a better price.

Yup! [ Why is he so surprised? ] Wait, you haven't heard? Airbenders have been popping up everywhere. One day they're non-benders and then--POOF!

Poof?! [Sorry, he's new here. This is all kind of a shock.]

Is that possible? I- I never thought people could get bending like that! Are you sure you airbended?

I don't think it's something that's supposed to happen normally. It has something to do with some spirit portals Avatar Korra left open, or...something. [ She doesn't pay attention to the news as well as she should. ]

Hey! I'm sure I can bend, look at this. [ It takes her a moment, her expression twisting in concentration. All her other airbending stunts had been accidental. She's never attempted to bend on purpose, but she manages to send a gust of wind forward with a frustrated push of her hands. ] See?

[Spirit portals? Avatar Korra? He's not exactly sure what it all means... but it could sound possible.

Either way, the evidence in front of his face trumps everything else. He'll be pulling another shocked face as he sees the wind being produced. There's no other explanation from it.]

Whoa! That's it! That's - that's airbending alright! Poof!

[Airbending. Airbending. After all this time, he's seeing someone else airbend in person.]

[ She grins and nods, both as an affirmative reaction to his statement, and as a way to acknowledge her own pride at having airbended. ]

Told you. It's pretty cool, huh? [ A beat. ] But I guess you would already know that, since you're an airbending master and all.

[Some quick, excited nods.]

Uh-huh! I guess you know all about the tattoos, huh? It really is the coolest! And I think that airbending suits you perfectly.

[ She looks pretty pleased by that. Her family was always going on about the Fey's ancient airbender connections, so it felt good, to know airbending suited her. ]

Guess that means I'll have to do my best! Maybe one day I'll even have tattoos like yours.

[It's a little weird to imagine someone else with tattoos. Someone he just met!

But she's an airbender, too. He nods.]

I believe in you, Maya. I'm sure you'll get them someday! And then no one can question how many pies you throw at them! [Yes, Aang, yes they still can.]
