The exchange caught Wan's attention and he wandered over to the young man in Air Nomad clothes to put himself between him and the museum worker. With a smile, he interrupted, "Sorry for any problems, but he hasn't sneezed and broken anything yet. He's clearly much further along in his training than the other new people with the power of air."

Wan had been paying very close attention to all the information he could find out about the Avatar and the whole 'bending' thing and Harmonic Convergence for the past few days he'd been getting used to the city. It still all fascinated him, but he was quicker on the uptake than he had been on his first day and felt confident discussing it like he belonged as much as anyone else.

The man guarding the display, of course, remained skeptical.

Wan turned his attention to the airbender, "But maybe we can go somewhere more open for now? Away from the man who looks like he'd call the guards in if even a spider-roach crossed his path?"

"Hey!"

"Huh?" Wan startled him when he suddenly chimed in. It took him a second to say something after he made his suggestion. "Uh-- yea. Yea, that sounds like a good idea."

Roku didn't know who or where this man came from, but he was sure glad he seem to be helping him out of this. The security man just gave them both a dark glance with his arms crossed.

"Just get out of my sight already." He didn't have to tell them twice. Roku didn't think he was going to get any real help in this place at this point, so leaving sounded like a good idea. At least he now had someone who would talk to him like a person.

"Thanks for the help. He wouldn't leave me alone the whole time I was in there!"

Wan gave his new friend a big smile and a light shrug as he led the way out of the museum and onto the large plaza outside where the statue of Avatar Aang loomed overhead, "No problem. You were just unlucky to show up on a bad day. I've seen a couple of the other new Airbenders here before and they didn't get treated like that at all. But I get the feeling that they know the schedule for when that guard usually works. They've always been very respectful otherwise."

He chattered for a bit before turning around and idly walking backwards to face Roku while he continued, "But you also looked a little more lost than they did. Are you new to the city?"

"Right..." His response trailed off as Roku became distracted by what he was seeing once they left the museum. He wasn't as invested at checking his surroundings when he thought about asking for help originally in the museum. Now that he was actually paying attention he could see the city in the distance. It reminded him of the Earth Kingdom by how clutter the buildings were, and yet they seem off and unlike the Earth Kingdom as well. Everything just look so strange and different, and was that a statue of an air nomad? If it wasn't obvious enough already, his dazed expression was a telling sign how new he was to this place.

"You could definitely say that, but I don't even remember ever leaving the air temple in the first place. What city is this?"

"Republic City," Wan answered with a curious raise of an eyebrow. Anyone from the particular era they were from at least knew Republic City. It seemed to be a focal point for the world and even if someone hadn't seen it, they knew of it. If nothing else, Avatar Aang's statue was a famous landmark. "What Air Temple? And if you don't mind me asking, who is the last or current Avatar you remember?"
