♥ 1. Where did you come from? You may not know anyone else on the boat, but you've all got one thing in common; you're headed to Republic City. ♥ 2. It's your first day in Republic City. You might wanna get a job lined up or you'll be living on the streets. ♥ 3. You're the new person in the city. You gotta make some friends, right? Go find someone and strike up a conversation.
♦ 4. Feeling a little crafty? Maybe you could make a quick yuan. Sell information for money or do a little threatening. ♦ 5. Vines. Vines everywhere! They're like the heads of a hydra. What are you going to do about the vines that just invaded your apartment? ♦ 6. Triads, Equalists... thugs in general. Welcome to the aftermath of losing a fight. Are you gonna go find a healer or are you gonna tough it out?
♣ 7. You've got a job. What is it? How are you going to get customers? You better get some soon. More customers equals more money. ♣ 8. You're a bender, right? Then you better practice it. What's that? Oh, a non-bender? You can still find a partner to spar with, right? ♣ 9. It's late. Have a drink at the pub! Get to know one another. Let it all flow freely!
♠ 10. Yeah! You've got a driver's license! Everyone else better watch out... ♠ 11. Entertainment's just rolled on into the city! Watch the ostrich-horses race or the acrobats perform. Or maybe you're one of them! ♠ 12. It's a long line at whatever vendor you're at. Make small talk with nearby civilians or try and haggle the vendor down to a better price.

[Helpfully, Druk leans forward to nudge the younger Zuko with his broad snout, as if to encourage him.]

But then Druk nudges him and he stumbles a bit at the push. Glancing back at the dragon, he then sighs and reaches up to remove the hood of his cloak before turning his face to look back at the retired Fire Lord fully.
Sometimes you don't need words.]

He shouldn't be, given the familiar faces he's seen here so far. But while the likes of Iroh or Aang could be explained away by some kind of anomaly in the Spirit World, this? Shouldn't be possible.]
... Well. That explains why Druk took such a liking to you. [hello Zuko, Zuko here???]
no subject
This is really awkward, and Zuko wears a slightly uncomfortable expression while fidgeting with his hands a bit.]
Yeah.
...
So... You're still around. Er. I'm still around. Um. Nice dragon.

[He seems to be pondering that question aloud more to himself than to... well, this younger version of himself. He moves over to Druk, rubbing a hand along his mane.]
I'm glad he's to your liking, but our poor friend seems to be very confused by the both of us. Can you explain what you're doing here?

Uncle? As a teenager?
[This just earns his older self a strange look. How could he possibly know what Uncle was like as a teenager? HE doesn't even know what Uncle was like as a teenager. To be honest, he's not sure he even wants to know.]
No. I was hoping you could.

[But if his younger self has no idea how he got here... Hmm. It fits the pattern of what he's witnessed of people in the past so far.]
It's just a theory, but all this might be related to Harmonic Convergence. Lately, the Spirit World has been joined with our world, and it has enacted a great many changes on life here.
[How it can make two of the same person exist at the same time, he doesn't know, but so far the effects don't seem to be dangerous. Perhaps that's a good sign for Korra's safety, given that Aang is currently here as well.]

[Give him a moment while Zuko processes this.]
I have a grandson?
[Well... duh. He knew he had to have kids eventually, cause you know, royal succession and all of that. But really, he's only 18, and he hadn't put much thought into that quite yet. Plus it's pretty traditional to be married before you have kids and... well. He hasn't crossed that bridge yet either. Oh so many questions that can arise from this. But instead his older self manages to distract him from that for the time being.]
So you think this has something to do with the Spirit World?
[Zuko stares in disbelief. He's not exactly well versed in spiritual matters. That was one of Uncle's specialties really.]
no subject
I'm not sure what else could explain it. The only time we've ever seen anything like this before is with the Avatar's capabilities to commune with the spirits of her or his past lives... I suppose meeting an older or younger version of oneself is almost similar.
[Which begs yet another question to ponder: if visions of the past are popping up all over Republic City, are they supposed to learn something from it?]
no subject
Zuko just scratches his head a bit in bewilderment. He's not really sure what to think about all of this, and he's not sure his older self does either, despite the attempt to come up with explanations. Though the Spirit World being involved makes the most sense of anything he's heard this far.
And then at the mention of the Avatar, a thought occurs to him. And he wonders why he didn't ask this sooner.]
Have you seen anyone else?
[Particularly his friends? He's met a few other people but... none of his close friends yet.]
