♥ 1. Where did you come from? You may not know anyone else on the boat, but you've all got one thing in common; you're headed to Republic City. ♥ 2. It's your first day in Republic City. You might wanna get a job lined up or you'll be living on the streets. ♥ 3. You're the new person in the city. You gotta make some friends, right? Go find someone and strike up a conversation.
♦ 4. Feeling a little crafty? Maybe you could make a quick yuan. Sell information for money or do a little threatening. ♦ 5. Vines. Vines everywhere! They're like the heads of a hydra. What are you going to do about the vines that just invaded your apartment? ♦ 6. Triads, Equalists... thugs in general. Welcome to the aftermath of losing a fight. Are you gonna go find a healer or are you gonna tough it out?
♣ 7. You've got a job. What is it? How are you going to get customers? You better get some soon. More customers equals more money. ♣ 8. You're a bender, right? Then you better practice it. What's that? Oh, a non-bender? You can still find a partner to spar with, right? ♣ 9. It's late. Have a drink at the pub! Get to know one another. Let it all flow freely!
♠ 10. Yeah! You've got a driver's license! Everyone else better watch out... ♠ 11. Entertainment's just rolled on into the city! Watch the ostrich-horses race or the acrobats perform. Or maybe you're one of them! ♠ 12. It's a long line at whatever vendor you're at. Make small talk with nearby civilians or try and haggle the vendor down to a better price.

I think you're giving me too much credit.
[He then shakes his head.]
There has to be something you can do. You can't bring back the people who died, and I can't undo all the wrongs of the Fire Nation. But I plan to atone for them, and you can do the same thing.
no subject
I've already started atoning for my mistakes. And from what I've seen in this city, I think I do a pretty good job of it. You, too.
no subject
It looks like Aang and I at least fulfilled our dream of making something new out of the Fire Nation colonies. But I never imagined anything like this.
no subject
...I'm glad I got to see it.
[Wan finished in a murmur before standing and brushing his pants off.]
I've already eaten, but if you're hungry, I can find you some food.
no subject
But Wan's words bring more realization to Zuko, and as if on cue, his stomach suddenly complained. His hand gripping at the growling menace.]
I guess I could use some food.
[He then stands as well.]
no subject
What do you like?
[There were more than a few street vendors on the edges of the park. He just needed to know what he was going to be grabbing this time.]
no subject
[Sounds good enough to him, and it's pretty darn good besides. Though while he doesn't expect a full royal banquet, he's not exactly expecting Wan to steal it either. He might be regretting this indeed.]
no subject
[He sniffed at the air as he turned his head from side to side, drawing the air currents to him so he could have a better chance of finding the vendor.]
Yeah. They're set up over this way.
[Wan followed the scent, though Zuko would only catch it once they were much, much closer to the vendor line.]
Okay, you should probably wait here. I'll go get the food.
no subject
What? Why?
[Suddenly he he has a very bad feeling about this.]
What are you going to do?
no subject
[He said as with a slight 'duh' tone.]
And unless you have money that they accept, it's probably better if you don't come with me. You're a lot more memorable than I am.
[And Wan circled his finger around his own left eye to emphasize that.]
no subject
Stealing? And Zuko starts reaching for something in his clothes that he knows should be there. He's the Fire Lord after all, he's normally got plenty of money, and he did think to take some with him when they- oh.
He pats himself several times, realizing that he didn't have the money after all. And then the thought dawns on him. ... He'd left it all with their stuff and Appa.
With that he sighs heavily in frustration, pinching his nose.]
Okay, fine.
[Without money, there really weren't any other options were there? So he will wait.]
no subject
[Wan grinned cheerfully and headed off for the row of vendors. He actually didn't head in to get close to any of them until a sudden gust of wind sent all the tent flaps on the back of the stalls flying. Then he darted into the one with the chicken Zuko wanted and dashed back out.
He was almost to Zuko when a shout went up and someone started calling for the police and pointing in his direction. Wan held the chicken out to his new friend.]
Time to go. Hope you're a fast runner.
no subject
However, at all the commotion, Zuko's eyes widened. And he's staring in disbelief at Wan before grabbing the chicken and making a break for it. Though he can't help but shout at him as they go.]
You couldn't have been discreet about it?!
no subject
[Wan shouted back with a laugh as he stayed behind Zuko to draw attention to himself and not his willing-accomplice. The few police patrolling the park were already starting to gather, but they were all non-bender beat cops and trained not to leave their patrol routes. Wan had accounted for that already.]
Keep going like you are and you'll get to a bridge. Duck under it, wait for a count of ten, then walk out casually and go your way. I'll keep their attention.
[With that said, Wan slowed himself down, stopping after a moment to turn around and start taunting the cops so their attention stayed solely on him.]
no subject
He then made a face and glared at it. Ugh, definitely not as good as in the Fire Nation.
Hopefully, Wan is as good as his word.]
