[The museum is quiet and nearly empty this time of night. Jinora hadn't been here in some time-- she has family heirlooms and writings more impressive than the museum could hope for-- but somehow she felt drawn here. Maybe she wanted to revisit her people's history, see it from a different point of view. Maybe she just wanted the silence of the museum at night.

In any case, she's walking through the exhibits before standing thoughtfully in front of the case of reproductions of Air Nomad tools and art. Jinora sticks out quite a lot-- her bright robes and very noticeable arrows make her hard tom miss. Hence the reason she comes to the museum late at night.]

[Aang's laugh echoes through the chamber. He managed to get a sky bison plushie by showing off some airbending at the gift shop, and now he's squeezing it to hear the squeaky sound it makes.

But he comes to a stop when he catches something out of the corner of his eye. A girl standing over air nomad materials. If he didn't know better, he'd think he was looking into a window to the past.

He approaches carefully... and very nervously. He's afraid to talk, in case he really is just seeing things. Wouldn't it be nice, if he finally found another airbender?]

He- hello?

[She turns toward the direction of the sudden laughter and looks curiously at the boy in air nomad robes... and with blue tattoos. Jinora looks more confused than upset-- why would anyone bother to impersonate an airbending master? But he looks strikingly familiar, yet she can't quite place it.]

Hi. [She tilts her head slightly.] Are you okay?

[His mouth opens in a silent gasp as she speaks. This really is for real. It has to be. And he gives a soft nod.]

Y-yeah. I'm fine. I just... got a little lost in memory.

[He quietly points towards her forehead.]

Are... are you really an airbender?

[She smiles kindly.]

Yeah. I'm a master airbender, actually.

[Aang smiles fondly. It's unbelievable.]

I knew you had to be... cuz of that tattoos! I'm really honored to meet you! [He presents a very formal bow.] My name's Aang.

[spiritjourneys]

[She replies with a formal bow as well.]

I'm Jinora but-- [She pauses, giving him a searching look. He's the spitting image of the statue.]

-- you look just like Avatar Aang.

It's nice to meet you, Jinora. And... um, uh...

[He sheepishly rubs at his neck.]

I kind of am that Avatar.

[spiritjourneys]

[That completely silences her. Jinora's seen a lot of strange stuff in her life so far, but speaking with Avatar Aang?

It's not possible.]

But Avatar Aang has passed on. Korra is the Avatar.

But I... I'm right here. [He says sadly as he looks down at his hands. Even with all of his life being treated as history... he can't except it. He can't be gone yet.]

I didn't pass, I just... I don't know what happened!

[spiritjourneys]

[She steps forward, giving him a good look-over. The tattoos look real, for one. And she can't deny that he looks exactly like Aang. Suddenly, she feels nervous. She's not sure she believes her eyes, but she has a horrible feeling that something has gone wrong.]

Can you airbend?

[savedtheworld]

[He gives some quick nods.]

Do you want me to show you?

[spiritjourneys]

[She nods, stepping back to give him space. Assuming he can airbend.]

[Another solemn, very serious nod. He just briefly reaches one hand into his sleeve.]

Great. Just take a close look okay? I hope this clears up all your doubts. Now...

[He takes a deep breath! Focuses! And...]

[Jinora's jaw drops. The airbending is unexpected, though, with all of the new airbenders showing up, it's not impossible. No, it's the way he demonstrates his bending.

It takes her a good twenty seconds to reply.]

H-how?

[savedtheworld]

Don't worry, I'll tell you how. [His smile is just a bit faded from her response, but he still explains chipperly.] The first thing you need? Is a bunch of really good marbles. The more silver-y they are, the better they're gonna look when you're spinning them!

[spiritjourneys]

[She shakes her head.]

No, no. I meant how... how are you here? Two Avatars aren't supposed to exist at the same time.

[savedtheworld]

[Now his face sinks again at that, and he lets the marbles come to a stop.]

Oh. Right... That. [He lightly shrugs his shoulders.] I don't know how. But... I think it had something to do with the spirit world.

I... I shouldn't be here.

[spiritjourneys]

[Thoughtfully:] But I'm here, so if you did somehow get displaced by time, you must end up going back at some point. We can figure out what's going on, don't worry.

[She smiles.] Do you have somewhere to stay? We have plenty of room on Air Temple Island.

[He's actually still for a moment, because he's wondering why her presence means he has to go back. Why she's an airbender. Why she almost looks like a mirror.

But then he looks at her with uncertain hope.]

Really? I- I never heard of an Air Temple Island. I would be honored, but... I don't want to impose.

[spiritjourneys]

[It doesn't occur to her that he wouldn't know; it's a well-known fact for most people that she's Aang's granddaughter.]

You wouldn't be imposing. Everyone will want to meet you.

[savedtheworld]

If you're sure, then... then, sure. [It's hard not to get choked up just looking at her.]

At lot of the time, I... I never thought I'd see another airbender again.

[spiritjourneys]

[Jinora feels a twinge in her heart. She'd never been the last airbender. Her grandfather had and her father had, but she'd never known that feeling.

She gives him a soft smile. This is still incredibly weird, but she can't help but tell him everything.]

For awhile, only my family could airbend. Four of us-- maybe five, we're not sure about Rohan yet-- were born airbenders. But-- [Her smile widens.] --now there are more. People who were born non-benders and got airbending. Leaving the Spirit Portals open didn't just balance the physical and spiritual worlds, it began to balance the elements again.

[Her eyes are shining now.] Dad thinks there could be enough airbenders to rebuild our nation.

[Don't worry. Grandpa's eyes are shining, too.]

Really? The air nation... it's gonna be back again? I... I don't think I have words for that. I might hoped it, but I never imagined it would happen like this.

But- your family! They sound really great. Where did you get that airbending from? [Could there be some airbending family out there he doesn't know about?]
